EraCam is a camera app. Your photos are processed on your phone and never leave it through us. We collect a small amount of anonymous usage data to understand whether the app works, and you can turn that off in Settings.
The short version
- Never collected: your photos, your location, your name, your email, your contacts, or anything else that identifies you.
- Collected, anonymously: ten usage events (listed below), tied to a random install ID that is not linked to you or your Apple ID.
- Your control: a switch in EraCam's Settings turns usage data off. Turning it off also deletes the install ID from your phone.
- No tracking: we do not track you across other apps or websites, and there are no ads.
Your photos
Every photo EraCam takes or imports is processed entirely on your device. EraCam never uploads, stores, or looks at your photos. Photos you save go to your own Photos library, in an EraCam album.
EraCam asks for two permissions, each only when it needs it:
- Camera, to take photos.
- Photos. Add-only access when saving a photo you took. Full read access is requested only when you open Import, because that is the only way to show you your library to pick from.
Photos saved by EraCam carry camera information (the "EXIF" data) naming the era iPhone the photo was styled after, for example Apple iPhone 4. This is part of the look and is written to your file only. Nothing in it identifies you or your location.
The usage data we collect
EraCam records ten kinds of events so we can tell whether people get to their first photo, which cameras they use, and whether the app is failing. Each event carries only the values listed here. None of them include photo content, location, or personal information.

Events are sent with a random install ID generated on your phone the first time EraCam opens. It is not derived from your Apple ID, your device serial number, your advertising identifier, or anything else about you. It exists so that ten events from one phone can be counted as one person rather than ten. No account or profile is ever created for you.
Along with the events, the standard information any internet request carries (your IP address, iOS version, device model, app version) is received by the services below. We use it for nothing beyond delivering the request.
Turning it off
Open EraCam, go to Settings, and turn off Share usage data. From that moment no events are sent, the analytics code is shut down, and the install ID is deleted from your phone. Turning it back on generates a new, unrelated ID. Nothing about the app changes when it is off.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple sends us a receipt confirming a purchase so the app can unlock what you paid for. The receipt does not include your name, email, or payment details. We use RevenueCat to process these receipts; it receives the purchase record and the same random install ID, nothing else.
Crash reports
If EraCam crashes, a diagnostic report describing what the app was doing at the time may be sent so we can fix it. Crash reports contain no photo content, no location, and nothing that identifies you.
Who receives data
EraCam makes exactly these network requests and no others:

We do not sell data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. On the App Store this is declared as "Data Used to Track You: None", with Product Interaction, Crash Data and Purchases listed as data not linked to your identity.
Data retention
Anonymous events are kept as long as they are useful for understanding how the app is doing, and are aggregated statistics after that. Because they are not linked to you, we cannot look up or delete "your" events on request; turning the switch off ends the association at the source.
Children
EraCam is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. The app collects nothing that identifies anyone of any age.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and any change that collects more than what is described here will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
