Terms of Use
Last updated · 2026-09-12 · Draft, takes effect when EraCam ships
These are the terms for using EraCam. They are short because the app is simple: you take photos, they stay yours, and if you pay for Pro you get all three cameras.
The agreement
EraCam is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), which applies to every app on the App Store. Everything below adds to it. If the two disagree, the standard EULA wins.
By downloading or using EraCam you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Your photos
Photos you take or import with EraCam are yours. We claim no rights to them, we never see them, and they never leave your phone through us. You are responsible for what you photograph and what you share.
EraCam writes camera information into the photos it saves that names the era iPhone the photo was styled after (for example Apple iPhone 4). That is what makes the photos look and behave like era photos when shared. Do not rely on it as a record of what device actually took the picture, and do not use it to misrepresent a photo where the recording device matters.
What EraCam is
EraCam simulates the image processing of the iPhone 4, 4S and 5 on a modern iPhone. It is a recreation, tuned from publicly available photos, not the original hardware. Results vary with light, lens and subject, and photos imported from your library cannot be made as authentic as photos taken live, because a modern photo has already been processed before EraCam sees it. We describe this honestly in the app and here, and we make no promise that any photo is indistinguishable from one taken on the original phone.
Free and Pro
The free version includes the iPhone 4 camera, unlimited live shooting including the front camera, and importing up to five photos per day. Pro unlocks the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 cameras, unlimited and batch import, and future cameras we add.
Pro is sold as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown in the app and on the App Store in your local currency.
Subscriptions
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your iPhone's Settings, under your Apple ID, Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policy. We cannot issue them directly.
- The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not renew. "Lifetime" means for as long as EraCam is available on the App Store.
- Purchases can be restored on a new device with Restore Purchases in Settings. Family Sharing is supported.
Acceptable use
Do not use EraCam to break the law, to harass or deceive people, or to reverse engineer, copy or resell the app or its camera simulations. The design and the pipeline that produces the era look are ours.
Changes and availability
We may update the app, change what is in the free tier, add cameras, or change prices for new purchases. Changes to a subscription price you already pay are announced by Apple before they take effect, with the option to cancel. We may stop offering EraCam; if we do, existing purchases keep working for as long as the app runs on your device.
No warranty and limitation of liability
EraCam is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost photos, lost data, or any indirect damages arising from the use of the app. Back up your photos; the app saves to your own Photos library, and keeping originals is your choice in Settings.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
